Points For Food: McDONALD’S REWARDS SCHEME

Reading Time: 2 mins
McDonalds Rewards are finally something we can enjoy. Customers can collect points on purchases to redeem against menu items or donate to charity. An Excuse to eat nuggs if ever I heard one.
McDonald’s UK is launching its first rewards scheme, which will award customers free menu items, or the option to donate them to charities including Children in Need, FareShare and Ronald McDonald House Charities.
MyMcDonald’s Rewards are available for sign-up from 20 July via the McDonald’s App, where you can earn 100 points for every £1 you spend. Each penny equals 1 point and there are some incredible rewards:
1,500 points bags you menu items including small Fries, Hash Browns or a Side Salad. With 2,500 points you can select a Double Cheeseburger or Vegetable Deluxe. 4,000 points gets you 6 Chicken McNuggets or a Big Mac. McDonalds Rewards
There’s also the option to donate the cash equivalent of their points to BBC Children in Need, FareShare and Ronald McDonald House Charities to support the company’s commitment to funding and supporting youth work, alongside reducing food poverty and waste in the UK. Points are converted to a cash donation, with 1,500 points translating to £1.50, 2,500 points becoming £2.50 and 4,000 points seeing the charity partner land a donation of £4.00.

If you opted in to MyMcDonald’s Rewards, and order and pay through the McDonald’s App, you’ll automatically earn points on your order, including McDelivery when you order via the app. Or, you can get a one-time code, available in the ‘code’ section of the app at the start of your order at Drive-Thru, Kiosk or Counter to earn points on your order.
You can start earning points on all orders by downloading and signing up to the McDonald’s App via Google Play or the Apple App Store here.
Michelle Graham-Clare, Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer, McDonald’s UK and Ireland said: “We’re incredibly excited to launch the MyMcDonald’s Rewards scheme in the UK. As well as rewarding our customers with our iconic menu items, we’re delighted to give customers the option of donating points to our brilliant charity partners , which we know will make an incredible difference to the lives of many thousands of young people and families across the country. We were delighted with the response from customers during our recent trial and I am so pleased we’re able to launch nationwide today.” Also don’t forget to check out the places Kid’s eat for free this summer.
