The government have pledged to help households with their cost of living and energy bills, as the latter are expected to soar to £3,420 in October with a predicted rise to £3,850 in January. U tilities consultant BFY have released the figures revealing a 74 per cent increase to the energy price cap, which already went up by 54 per cent to £1,971 in April 2020.     The price cap was previously set at £1,227, with a jump to £3,420 meaning and some families are choosing heating over eating or vice versa.
